Amongst the spectacular vistas and calm waters, Mallorca as a sourcing location is an unsuspecting gem for antique and vintage finds.
Outside the curated antique stores in and around Palma.The sleepy town of Consell has a vast flea market every Sunday. So large and frequent that there is no need for a 5am alarm and it’s free to attend.
The pop up stalls have much to offer in textiles, ceramics, trinkets and unusual objects. Whilst the permanent store on the grounds houses much larger furniture pieces, artworks, salvage and lighting.
At this point you will undoubtedly be starving. But unlike UK fairs you can grab a reasonably priced and authentic bite to eat either in the grounds or the local town.
Just opposite the entrance to the fair is a stylists haven of rustic objects and furniture store 'Art from Mallorca'. Poles apart form the bric-a-brac and slightly chaotic atmosphere of the fair this space has a Mediterranean - quiet luxury vibe.I promise you will want to take everything home with you or at least touch most of the pots before leaving the shop.
